Madhubani Painting

It was my Dad's retirement !! He completed 40 yrs in his job with flying colours so, we all decided to honour my mom n dad on achiving this milestone. On this occassion, as they'll be shifting in there new appartment, I made a Madhuban painting for my mom. 

Madhubani paiting is a traditional art style of India which is made using primary colours. The basic details are drawn with the help of black colour and a nib pen. And rest of the colours are filled in it with brush. 

 

  

Madhubani painting has fine details hence needs a lots of patience. The scalops in the borders are filled with fine lines.

Hi !! As the Mother's Day is approaching, I'll be uploading some simple projects for mother's day gifts.

Things required to make this simple and royal crown are

Cotton Lace (with triangular edges)

Liquid Starch

Golden Fabric Colour

Painting Brush

 

Now,  Take the lace measuring 1 inch more than the head circumfrance. Spread liquid starch over it 

Keep the lace for drying in sun.

Once the lace is dry, colour it with golden fabric colour

Finally join the edges with glue. And The crown is ready for your darling Mom.

You can always accessories the crown with gems or buttons as desired.

As the spring season is here, India is getting prepared for various regional festivals mostly related to harvesting or Welcome of Indian New Year. Baisakhi in Punjab, Vishu in Kerala, Vaishakh in Bihar etc. Colours, Dance, Music, Prosperity and Happiness all around. In this festive season I am displaying , How to make a Scare crow.

STEP 1

Take two stick , one to make main body and second (smaller one ) to make arms. secure them with rope first and the tape.
                                                       
                                                                              STEP 2

                                              Then tie a broom or hay stack to make hands.

                                                 

                                                                       STEP 3

                                         Take some old dress and drape it on the basic structure.

STEP 4

           Make a face from felt. make facial features using some embroidery or features available in the market.

                                                  Add some head gear like hat or a scarf .

STEP 5

                                                        Attach the face to the basic structure.

STEP 6

                                                    Add some accessories like necklace to it.

Hi all and welcome to my blog. 

Everyday when I get up I think , what to do today ? The only answer I get is "lets do something new... " In that craving to do something new every day, sometimes i try cooking, sometimes home decor, some day am determined to give myself a makeover n some day something special for my family. So I thought there must be many other spirited people out there in this world so why not to share our thoughts. So here on this blog i'll be sharing my daily new project I undertake n some of my old project like some wall pieces i made or some ideas on a pirate birthday party on my son's 5th birthday.  So tomorrow we'll start with some craft.
